📖 Parental guide: This story introduces children to the virtue of patience through Yusuf’s experiences with gardening and a school art project. It emphasizes the importance of giving processes their due time and the positive outcomes of patience and perseverance

Once upon a time, in a bustling town filled with the sweet scents of bakeries and the joyous laughter of children, there lived a young boy named Yusuf. Yusuf was known for his bright smile and endless energy, but he had a little trouble with one thing: patience.
One sunny morning, Yusuf's mother gave him two seeds to plant in their garden. She explained, "These seeds will grow into beautiful flowers, but only if you give them time and care." Yusuf was excited and planted the seeds right away. But the next day, seeing no flowers, he grew restless. "Why aren't they growing?" he complained, and in his impatience, he dug up the seeds to check on them. Sadly, by doing so, he ruined their chance to grow.
A few days later, at school, Yusuf faced a similar challenge. His teacher announced a drawing competition, promising a prize for the best artwork at the end of the week. Yusuf started his drawing with enthusiasm, but soon saw his classmates' intricate designs. Feeling his simpler drawing couldn't compete, he rushed to add more to it, ignoring his teacher's advice to take his time. The rushed additions made his drawing messy, and he didn't win the prize.
However, Yusuf's story doesn't end here. After these experiences, he had a heartfelt talk with his grandmother, who shared stories of the Prophet Muhammad's patience and wisdom. Inspired, Yusuf decided to try again with new seeds and a new art project.
This time, he watered the seeds daily and waited patiently without digging them up. Weeks later, to his delight, vibrant flowers blossomed. At school, he applied the same patience to a new art project for an exhibition. He worked carefully and thoughtfully, not rushing the process. His artwork was admired by all for its detail and creativity, and it earned a special place at the school's entrance.
Yusuf learned the valuable lesson that good things truly come to those who wait. He saw firsthand the consequences of impatience and the beautiful outcomes that patience can bring.
What do you think Yusuf felt seeing his flowers bloom and his art appreciated by everyone? How can we practice patience in our own lives?
